Rick had three sisters, Baby Carol Ann who died at birth, Sue, and Pam. He had two brothers, Dave and Ronnie. A total of six in our family. We all loved Rick with all our hearts. Our mom and dad also had six foster babies. We had a wonderful childhood and the best of parents. God blessed us all.

My very first memory is of my sweet baby brother coming home from the hospital. I had just turned 4 years old.
And then there are so many childhood memories of growing up on Brinson. Rick and Becky BFF's. ...playing in the basement more cowboys than dolls. Two wild ones. And they loved picking mom's flowers in the summer. The cutest little couple.
Another memory is one when Rick was little, he'd
sit on mum's lap squeezing her ears while he sweet talked her into something. He would get his way because he was so irresistible. We all loved him to pieces.
..and then it came time for school and Rick had an imaginary friend, Sargent. We heard so many stories about Sargent at dinner time before realizing Sargent was not for real, but Rick could tell a good story!
He loved our dog Bonnie and she was part of our Saturday mornings, playing with her and watching TV. Bonnie was his 1st dog of many and each one was special to him.
Then at 12 years old I took my baby brother on his 1st motorcycle ride, a Honda 90, and he was hooked. Later we both became Harley riders and enjoyed meeting for lunch occasionally before he went to work.
I think he was 10 or 12 when I was still able to beat him arm wrestling and I never let him forget it and neither did Dave. Lol.
There was a year he took golf lessons with Roy and me. It was obvious he preferred hunting and fishing.
We shared vacations every summer traveling all over the US and Mexico in a car with 4 kids and no air conditioning. Sometimes hauling a camper. Many memories, car games, baseball in hotel parking lots, stopping for watermelon in the church yards, picnic lunches at a picnic table along side the road. The greatest vacations as family.
..and for years we asked Rick when was he going to get married. I remember once he said mom didn't approve of some girl because she had dirty fingernails, but usually he'd say he hadn't heard any bells yet. Then one day those bells rang and his shy little grin never left. He was in love. When Richie and Bob came along he became one proud daddy, teaching his boys everything he knew and enjoying it more than ever. HIs boys learned karate or something like it, hunting, fishing, and even learn to drive a tractor in their own front yard. His large property in Dundee was only 2nd best to his love for up north, the thumb area where he owned a small farm in Kinde.
He was never happier than when talking about Richie and Bob, he did light up, and he never stopped loving his one and only true love, Arlene.
He lead his life in a way that made him happy and it was a good one.
