Obituary of Milton Poupard

Milton Joseph Poupard was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 13, 1928. He was the son of the late Harvey and Lillian (Jacobs) Poupard. Milton attended St. John's grade school and graduated from Catholic Central High School.
He married the love of his life Juanita (Pierce) Minton on November 15, 1970.
Milton worked as a Service Engineer for twenty-five years at Elliot/United Technologies retiring in 1993. He had previously been employed by Consolidated Paper for more than twenty-three years, worked in service for Siegel Honda, and had driven bus for Trinity Lutheran School.
Milton had the uncanny ability to rebuild any machine or motor. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying deer hunting, camping, spending time at the lake, fishing, boating, and gardening. Milton also loved to collect eagles and had bowled with Juanita in several leagues.
Milton was saved into God's Family in June of 2005. He worshipped his maker at the North Monroe Street Church of God and was very active in his church. Milton loved to usher, participated with the Primetimer's Bible Study, and served on Pastor's Prayer Team. Known as a "Prayer Warrior", Milton was a source of encouragement to others.
Milton age 83 a lifelong Monroe resident went peacefully to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning, December 14, 2011. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a son: Timothy Poupard; a grandson: John Poupard; and brothers: Harvey Jr. and Vincent.
To cherish his memory Milton leaves his soul mate: Juanita of Monroe; six children: Milton J. Poupard Jr. of Arizona, Jackie Cook of Monroe, JoAnn (Tom) Lambert of Temperance, Danny (Ronda) Minton Jr. of Monroe, Douglas (Shelly) Minton of Monroe, and Terrie (Bob) McKeone of Monroe; one sister: Georgina (Herschel Dean) Mosingo of LaSalle; one brother: William Poupard of Monroe; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday and from 2:00-8:00pm Friday at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. He will lie in state from 10:00am until a Celebration of His Life at 11:00am, Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the North Monroe Street Church of God, 2393 North Monroe with Pastor Rick Massingill officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn.
