Aunt Marian, as I was taught to call her, was really not an aunt but a very dear and close friend of my mother's. She would always offer to take me to Lake Erie for a swim whenever she was heading that way. She put the top down on her convertable and off we'de go to the lake. She made me feel special and I really don't know if she took anyone else to the lake, but it was just her and me when she asked me.
Later on she became the husband of Harold Greishaber and took in his two children Pat and Tim. Tim and I became close in those summers when school didn't interfer with cross town friendships. Aunt Marian would scoop us both big bowls of ice cream and let us play for hours in the basemen or watch t.v.
I missed Aunt Marian once she moved to Arizona but her life took her out that way and we lost touch.
I hope she had great years out in Arizona and that her life was as full of happiness as she brought to my life.
