Clara Kathleen "Katy" Heck Lenz was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 3, 1940. She was an only child born from the union of the late Arnold E. Heck and the late Clara M. (Evans) Heck. Clara attended Monroe Public Schools.
Clara was a retired automotive worker for General Motors Powertrain, Toledo plant, retiring after thirty plus years of loyal work. She was an avid fan of taking road trips, playing the slots at various casinos, going to garage sales, and most importantly spending time with her family.
Clara was a fun loving person, with a heart of gold. There was nothing she would not do to help another out. She had a personality that could make anyone laugh, and she had the capability to walk into a room full of strangers and come out with a room full of friends. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed deeply.
Clara Kathleen Lenz age 73 of LaSalle passed away at 2:45am, Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. She was under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by two husbands: David E. Lenz and Robert W. Baldwin; and a son: Robert Baldwin.
To cherish her memory she leaves a daughter: Tracy Bitz of LaSalle; a son: Marc Baldwin of Monroe; four grandchildren: Arrica (Michael) Preston of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Bitz of Monroe, Marcala Baldwin of Monroe, and MaKenna Baldwin of Monroe; and one great granddaughter: Maicee.
Private services were held and cremation has taken place. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with her arrangements.
