Obituary of Edith Loope

Please share a memory of Edith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Edith Hall was born on July 25, 1924 in Lee County, Virginia.   She was one of thirteen children born from the union of John Hall and Maudie (Daniel) Hall.   Edith married the love of her life, J.B. Loope on August 20, 1946 in Middlesboro, Kentucky and from this union came the blessing of nine children.

Edith painstakingly cared for the needs of her husband and children.    Family meant the most to her and she worked hard to care for them.   For many years, Edith also worked as a nursing assistant at the Mercy Memorial Nursing Center.   She retired in 1992.

Edith appreciated the simple things in life.   She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and affectionally feeding the squirrels and birds who visited her yard each day.

Edith Hall Loope, age 94 of Monroe, passed away at 1:02pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.   Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband:  J.B. Loope; two daughters:  Mona Kay and Lois Ann; one grandson:  Johnathan Brett Loop; all twelve of her siblings including five brothers: Tyler, Roscoe, Vernon, Jack, and Frank; and seven sisters: Callie, Viola, Veola, Lucy, Mosey, Bertha, and June.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her four sons: Johnny (MaryAnne) Loop, Terry “Bud” Loope, and Gary Loope all of Monroe; and Ronald (Claudia) Loope of Oregon, Ohio; five daughters; Lisa Willis of Monroe, Sonya Keehn of Port Charlotte, Florida, Kimberly Weaver of North Port, Florida; and Treva (Sherman) Carey of Lincolnton, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
