Jayne Ann Wickenheiser
January 5, 1957 - December 7, 2012
Jayne Ann Masserant was born on January 5, 1957 in Hudson, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Erwin Masserant and the late Frances (Langton) Masserant. Jayne was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson High School.
She married the love of her life, Michael Wickenheiser on May 27, 1977 in Newport. The young couple moved to Erie and from this union would come the birth of three children. For more than thirty years Jayne was employed as a monitor tech for Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Jayne enjoyed her vacation getaways to places such as the Florida Keys. She also adored her grandchildren and looked forward to the time she spent with them. Jayne had a servant's heart and always put the needs of her family and friends first. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie where she served on the funeral luncheon committee and had been a faithful volunteer for the church school for more than 15 years.
Jayne Ann Wickenheiser, age 55 of Erie, passed away peacefully at 12:12am at Mercy Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 07, 2012. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a sister, Mary Sue Ely.
To cherish her memory she leaves her beloved husband: Michael Wickenheiser of Erie; one son: Kevin (Christine) Wickenheiser of Centerville, Ohio; two daughters: Kristin (Timothy) Martin of Warren and Kellie (Carl) DuVall of Augusta, Georgia; one sister: Joan (Jerry) Brogley of Temperance; one brother: Norbert (Marge) Masserant of Hillsdale; six grandchildren: Collin Wickenheiser, Erin Wickenheiser, Mazie Martin, Addison Martin, Tori DuVall, and Kylee DuVall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, on Monday, December 10, 2012 and from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Bennett Funeral Service, 14567 South Dixie Highway in Monroe (734) 848-5185. A Rosary service will take place at 7:00pm on Tuesday. She will lie in state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan in Erie with Father Fred Kalaj officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery for burial.
