Robert "Bob" Davis Wray was born in Wyandotte on April 25, 1959. He was one of three sons born from the union of the late Arthur Davis and Sue (Belcher) Wray, raised with the two sons born from the union of Sue and Claude Koch. Bob graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wyandotte High School in 1977. While in high school he lettered in Track and Cross Country earning a scholarship to Henry Ford Community College where he studied Political Science.
Bob was an amazing person, and he was gifted with many skills. A great sales person he worked for several different employers throughout the years including Art Van. It was said that "Bob could sell ice cream to an Eskimo". He had a passion for music and played the violin. He also enjoyed drawing and sketching, and often challenged himself to his favorite television show of Jeopardy. Bob enjoyed helping others and volunteered time at the Community Center in Monroe. He was a Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 217 in Wyandotte.
Bob enjoyed playing darts and shared his love with brother, Jeff. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and working in the yard. Bob loved all children and was a special uncle to the nieces and nephews. He had a passion for animals and especially his two cats.
Robert "Bob" Davis Wray, age 55 of Monroe, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a nephew: Eric Wray in 2004.
To cherish his memory, Bob leaves his four brothers: Roger (Kathy) Koch of Wyandotte, Gary (Rose) Koch of Battle Creek, David E. Wray of Washington, and Jeffrey (Julie) Wray of Erie; seven nieces and nephews: Virginia Stacy Koch, Christopher Koch, Michael Koch, Jennifer Wray, Sarah L. Jones, Chelsea Koch, Jacob Koch; and seventeen great nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2015 also at Merkle's Reverend Herbert Gilbert of Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor officiating. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park in Huron Township for burial.
