So sorry for the accident and loss of your Robert. Our heavenly Father promises us that very soon he will 'swallow up death forever, and wipe the tears from all faces' Isaiah 25:8. What a wonderful future hope that is. There is much Bible based comfort to be found on the website: jw org

Bob and I graduated Class of '77. I knew him from school for many years. We just became reacquainted on Facebook with many of our classmates. Loved his humorous posts and keeping tabs on him. The magic of Facebook made the 2000 miles between us disappear. Rest easy Bob. Peace to the family.

I was shocked to hear of the passing of Bob. My heart goes out to his family. I remember the first time I saw Bob back in September of 1976. I think it was the 1st day of my freshman year and I was walking down the hallway and this beautiful, tall, dark-haired man was walking towards me from the other direction. I couldn't help but stare and notice his eyes and smile. I swear he had the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen. I thought he was a movie star. Of course I never spoke to him or got to know him, I just admired him from afar. Ironically, I started dating his younger brother, Dave, in the beginning of 10th grade. I only dated Dave briefly, so I never really had any interaction with Bob. I think I only saw him one or two times over the past 35 years since high school, and it was always from a distance or passing by each other, not realizing who he was until too late. May he rest in peace now, and his family treasure the memories and hold them close to their hearts.

Jeff we are so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. Was wondering how you knew about Glen's mother since it has not come out in the paper yet. Then I saw the last name Wray as someone being at Merkle Funeral Services. What a small world. We send our deepest sympathy and will keep you and your family in our prayers. Glen and Beverly Meade

Jeff and Dave: Bob and I went way back, and I really got to know him well when I decided to run cross country in my junior year, from that point forward we became good friends, Bob continually went out of his way to motivate and encourage me to stick it out, and at first I didn't listen to him, and quit, that summer he encouraged me to go back out there and show our coach what I could do, so I dropped almost 30 pounds, and being a shorter chunky guy I was not the ideal runner physique, but I became a runner and ended up running in the top 7 for the league meet, ran my best time ever and because of Bob I earned my varsity letter that year. That drive and ethic Bob had for running rubbed off, I then used that skill as a Marine and it faired me well, I broke 18 minutes for our 3 mile run on several occasions and maxed out our physical fitness test, again thanks to Bob and pushing me beyond what I thought I was capable of, he assisted me on a continuous basis rain or shine. Bob I just want to say thanks to you for what you may not have known you did for me, I completed a successful career in the Corps and when I left they gave me a plaque with the title of Running Man, something I would have never achieved on my own had you not been there to push and encourage me when I needed it the most! Thank you for being in my life, it was an honor to call you friend, and I will miss you every day! Semper Fi my Brother, and Fair Winds and Following Seas!

To Bobs family, I got to know Bob working a few years ago at the soup kitchen, he asked all the workers over one night for coffee. We had a good time talking about the old days of high school. His smile will be missed, he always had a good word for the workers.Rest in peace Bob. In Gods Hands,Sandra
