Joella Jay Frommert was born on May 6, 1970, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, to the loving union of George Frommert and Beverly (Axford) Frommert. Joella worked many years in automotive production. Throughout this time, she showed dedication to her work, earning the respect of her colleagues.

Joella had an eye for beauty and a passion for shopping, particularly when it came to home décor. She was always on the hunt for the perfect piece to elevate her living space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflected her spirit. A remarkable cook, Joella took immense pride in her culinary skills, especially when preparing her beloved chicken paprikash. This recipe was more than just a meal; it was a heartfelt tribute to her mother’s love and influence. Joella cherished the moments spent sharing this dish with family and friends, making each gathering special.

Her beloved dog, Murphy, was not just a pet but a cherished companion who brought endless joy to her life. Joella's love for her family knew no bounds; she treasured every second spent with them and fostered bonds that were deep and enduring. She was also a second mom to many of her daughters' friends, always ready to offer guidance, support, and a warm hug. Her nurturing spirit made her home a safe haven, filled with laughter and love.

Joella Jay Champagne, aged 54, of Flat Rock, Michigan, passed from this life on Monday; December 16, 2024, at Corewell Health Hospital in Dearborn, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing was preceded by that of her mother Beverly Frommert.

Joella is survived by her loving daughter: Lauren Vickers and cherished grandson: Kaleb Lancaster, who were the lights of her life. She also leaves her beloved father: George Frommert and dear brother: George Frommert.

Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Friday; December 27, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Joella’s Life will begin at 12:00pm, also at Merkle’s, with Pastor BJ McDaniel of One Way Christian Fellowship officiating. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
