Obituary of Michael Clark

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael Patrick Clark was born on November 4, 1970, in Dearborn Michigan to John Clark and Donna (Smith) Clark. Mike embraced his role as the youngest of nine siblings with a vibrant spirit and an infectious smile. He loved his time with his family, whether playing cards, debating current issues, or philosophizing about life. His greatest joy sprang from his great- nieces and nephews, who always brought a sparkle to his eye when they were near.

Mike had a passion for fishing, hunting, and any adventures in the great outdoors. His music catalog accompanied him wherever he went, a broad mix of alternative and classic rock with a smattering of sentimental songs. He also enjoyed classic cars, attending car shows to admire the stunning vehicles and to vote for his favorites. His own cars were typically brightly colored, reflecting his lively personality.

Although Mike’s activities were tempered by increasingly severe multiple sclerosis, he remained resilient and passionate, never losing his wry sense of humor. Mike was a 1988 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic Central high school. Before his illness took hold, he worked in the semiconductor industry. Mike adapted to his health challenges, inspiring family and friends with his strength and determination. He cared deeply about others, which drew his family circle even closer.

Michael Patrick Clark, aged 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday; December 8, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. His family would like to thank the ProMedica ICU medical team, as well as his niece Sarah Brown and the rest of the staff at Hickory Ridge in Temperance, where he spent his recent years. Mike’s passing was preceded by that of his parents, John and Donna Clark, his infant twin brother Patrick Michael Clark, and his great-niece Alexis Hasley.

Mike is survived by his loving siblings: Trish (Rick) Brown, Sue (Tony) Iverson, Ed (Stephanie) Clark, Lenore (Jeff) Link, John Clark, Alice Clark, Mark (Cindy) Clark, and Tom (Katie) Clark; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
