Obituary of Robert Keith Moore
Robert Keith Moore, the son of Kimberly Sue Moore was born a premature twin in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 9, 1988. Although, he entered the world smaller than most, his heart was enormous.
Robert was raised by his maternal grandmother, Carol Moore, in a Christian home steeped in love and faith. From a young age, he was dedicated to staying in the word, reading, and studying scripture. Carol’s nurturing care made him a “grandma’s boy”, and he grew into a gentle soul who was late to leave the nest. He graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 2007.
Robert found great excitement in the pixelated worlds of shooter games on Xbox, where he could explore, strategize, and connect with friends. Despite his introverted nature, those who were privileged enough to enter his inner circle formed lasting bonds. He was a pillar of support, always encouraging others to believe in themselves.
Robert’s upbringing grounded him and guided him through life's challenges and further inspired his acts of kindness. Concerned more for others’ welfare than his own, Robert would often sacrifice his needs to ensure those around him were cared for. It wasn't uncommon for him to forego his meals so others could eat.
Throughout his adult life, Robert grappled with personal demons, but he remained a remarkable individual, unafraid of risks and willing to embrace the new and unfamiliar. Living with legal blindness added hurdles to Robert's life, yet he never let it deter his independence. Without a driver's license, he adeptly navigated the world through public transit or on foot. His loyalty to friends was unparalleled, willing to brave a snowstorm if it meant helping someone in need, even if the assistance was a mere pack of smokes.
For over a dozen years, Robert shared life with his partner, Shaun Johnson. Even though they eventually went their separate ways, they formed deep memories together. His friendship with Nellie, whom he regarded as a big sister, also enriched his life. Robert’s love for animals began in childhood. He enjoyed caring for them and found joy in helping creatures great and small.
