Obituary of Dennis Ray May

Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis Ray May Jr. was born to the union of Dennis May Sr. and Bettie (Davis) May on January 12, 1965, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. After graduating high school Dennis pursued his mechanical certification that led to his career as a heavy equipment mechanic, a profession that not only showed his technical skills but also reflected his deep passion for machinery and problem-solving. Dennis took pride in his ability to keep equipment running smoothly, ensuring the success of numerous projects over the years. His work ethic was unmatched in every task he undertook.

Dennis had a knack for humor and made others laugh constantly without hesitation. From the witty jokes to the funny voices just to hear his children laugh. His laugh will forever be etched into our brains. All jokes aside, Dennis had a passion for music and had a natural hidden talent, listening to a song and being able to play it on guitar without reading music. Those who knew him, would say this would be one of his favorite past times.

More recently, Dennis found joy in spending quality time with family; mending long lost relationships, watching crime shows like NCIS, and blowing the dust off that ol’ guitar. As life comes with many challenges, Dennis faced every challenge with dedication and determination.  Despite the difficulties he encountered, he always maintained a kind heart and a strong spirit. He will be remembered by his family for his unwavering love and dedication, especially during challenging times.

Dennis Ray May Jr. aged 59 passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2024. He leaves a legacy filled with laughter, hard work, and a zest for life that will always be remembered. His passing was preceded by his parents: Dennis and Bettie May; a son: Jacob May; and a sister: Sandra Barnes.
