Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Michael Kovacs was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1948. He was one of three children born from the union of Stephen Kovacs and Julia (Lipchik) Kovacs. John attended Cody High School in Detroit and graduated with the class of 1967.

He married the love of his life, the former Jean Miller, in 1968. To provide for his family, he was gainfully employed as an assembler with Ford Motor Company for forty-two years. Despite the demands of his job, John always made his family a top priority, cherishing his wife Jean and their three children. He loved family gatherings, and they were often filled with the delightful aromas coming from John’s grill. His barbecue skills earned him legendary status amongst loved ones, turning every holiday into a lively celebration.

Outside of work, John found great pleasure in woodworking. He eagerly took on every chance to tinker around his home, repairing, building, and enhancing things, all with the aim of creating a comfortable haven for his family.

Upon retiring, John embraced a new phase of life. His family affectionately nicknamed him the "channel surfer" as he explored the vast selection of TV shows with both curiosity and delight.
