Obituary of Judith Ann Beeker

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith Ann Ramsey was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 3, 1945.  She was one of seven children born to the union of Henry Ramsey and Katie (Orick) Ramsey.  She attended Cantrick and Lincoln Schools before graduating with the Class of 1963 from Monroe High School.

Judy was employed by Sears and Roebuck and then the bank prior to marrying the love of her life: Duane Irving Beeker on December 6, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church.  The couple were blessed with three children, and Judy cared for the needs of her family as a homemaker.  A wonderful mother, she was known to be strict yet loving and kind.  She taught her children to respect themselves with how they acted and dressed.  They also learned the value of education as she was willing to help with their schoolwork, even after the children were in college.

Judy was a woman of devout faith, reading her Bible and spending time in prayer each day.  An active member of Trinity for decades, the church was a staple in her life.  She sang in three different choirs at the church including the Praise Singers and Contemporary Choirs.  She also led and participated in numerous Bible Studies over the years.  Her faith sustained her, and she looked forward to worshipping each week with her children and grandchildren.  For more than forty years, Judy was also a member of the River Raisin Sweet Adelines.

Judy enjoyed sewing and creating clothes for her children.  She loved to shop, always in search of the best deals or the perfect gift.  Not caring much for television, she received her entertainment from the pages of a book.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed all types of material from religious publications to romance.  Her favorite pastime came with the introduction of grandchildren.  As they became her focus, she was sure to support them at as many events as possible with her presence.

Judith Ann Beeker, age 78 of Monroe passed away at 7:25pm on Monday; October 28, 2024, at Wellspring Lutheran Services.  Her passing was preceded by her parents and five siblings: Roy Dean Ramsey, William Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, Martha Burgard, and Barbara Brewer.

To cherish her memory she leaves a beloved husband of nearly fifty-five years: Duane Irving Beeker of Monroe; three children: Matthew (Alison) Beeker of Monroe, Carla (Jason) Butler of Monroe, and Scott (Sandra) Beeker of Dautphe, Germany; a brother: James (Linda) Ramsey of Monroe; nine grandchildren: Faith, Luke, Lexie, and Cole Butler, Kenny Stumpmeier, Kaden Stumpmeier, Brendan Beeker, Ruby Beeker, and Joshua Beeker.
