In Loving Memory of Mary Margaret (Peggy) Teller
Peggy was a beacon of love and joy in my life. From the days she would visit our New Baltimore home, filling our weekends with laughter and warmth, to the cherished times I spent with her in Belleville, Michigan, Peggy always made every moment special. Her visits were a highlight, and her presence brought a unique light into our lives.
As I grew older, our bond only strengthened. Peggy’s apartment in Belleville became a second home to me, a place where I always felt welcomed and loved. Even after she married, she made sure I was always included, never letting distance or time diminish our connection.
Despite her health struggles in later years, Peggy’s unwavering faith and devotion to her family and friends remained her priority. Her daily 3:00 pm devotionals were a testament to her deep faith in God, and she often shared special prayers with me, reminding me of God’s love and guidance.
I will forever cherish the memories of her singing at St. Charles Church in Newport, Michigan. Her beautiful voice and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone around her. It was a comfort to know she had wonderful friends like the Roelant family, who embraced her as one of their own and cared for her until the end. Her friend Gail, who lived across the street, would bring her meals daily. Peggy always called to tell me what Gail had made and what a wonderful cook she was. When Gail went to Florida, her son Jeffrey took over, bringing her food and ensuring her yard looked good.
When Peggy was able to drive, she would meet up with her friends for lunch and always had a lot to talk about. It was like a book club! I teased her, saying she wasn’t being a Mrs. Kravitz, and she would laugh so hard and say no. She loved her neighbor Vicki and her sister and was so excited when Vicki’s brother came into town. Vicki always made sure Peggy got her mail. Those were good times.
Peggy’s resilience and love were evident even in her final years. Despite the challenges, she never let go of her love for her family and friends. Our phone calls, filled with love and laughter, always ended with a heartfelt “I love you.” She had a special love for the show “The Masked Singer,” and she laughed so hard that she had to call me to ask if I watched it.
Peggy’s memory will forever be a testament to the love of family and friends, her unwavering faith in God, and her devotion to her church. She always had to have the last word, a true O’Neil, with that stubborn Irish spirit.
Please, God, take care of my beautiful cousin. I know she is now in the presence of You, her parents, my parents, her sister Karen, and Charles and Marian Roelant. She is blessed and at peace. Cousin Love you Lisa
