Obituary of Gregory A. Schrader

Please share a memory of Gregory to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gregory “Greg” Alan Schrader was born on December 26, 1978, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was one of two sons born from the union of Charles Schrader and Kay (Schwisow) Schrader. Greg was a 1998 graduate of Dundee High School.

Greg was larger than life itself and was the type of person that could light up a room with his infectious laugh and loved to make jokes and pull a prank or two. With an uncanny ability to find humor in any situation, he brought joy to everyone he encountered. He was often counted on when someone needed to talk, share a laugh or needed help with something.  Greg was there, always putting others ahead of himself.

Greg was incredibly hard-working and dependable. Greg owned and ran a successful lawn, landscaping, concrete and excavating business known as Yard Master for over twenty years and was in the process of starting his new business venture. Grade Solutions Excavating & Concrete.  He was able to help many throughout the community complete their home and business improvement projects.  Greg took great pride in doing quality work, being reliable and upfront with his customers.

Greg loved his time spent at the lake, especially pulling his nieces and nephews on a tube behind a speedboat to see who he could get to fall off the most.  He loved to grill, honing his skills as the family's unofficial chef, serving up delicious meals with a side of chuckles. His favorite days at the lake were afternoons filled with many yard games like cornhole, whiffle ball, and washers.  Greg relished every moment spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews and the love of his life, “special guest” Hope, whom he adored.

Apart from family gatherings, Greg loved to play golf.  He enjoyed playing in local scramble tournaments and was a member of the Dundee Golf League for over twenty-five years.  He also loved his outdoor trips up north filled with snowmobiling and four-wheeling with friends and members of Crab Orchard in Grand Marias.  Greg was also an avid sports fan, with his heart belonging to the University of Michigan, the Chicago Bears, and the Detroit Tigers.
