Obituary of Thomas James Davis

Thomas James Davis was born on January 19, 1954, in Monroe, Michigan.  He was one of four children born to the union of Junior Davis and Bertha (Collins)Crocher.  Tom attended Garfield High School in Hamilton, Ohio graduating with the class of 1972.  Tom provided for his family by working as a forklift operator for the Excel Distribution Company in Monroe, Michigan. After his retirement from Excel, Tom enrolled in computer training classes to further his knowledge of computers.

On October 21, 2010, in Monroe, Michigan Tom would marry the love of his life, the former Marlene Doerner and together the couple would be blessed with the birth of their daughter; C’aira.  Tom loved spending time in the great outdoors whether he was hunting for deer, rabbits and small birds or fishing out of Bolles Harbor for anything that would bite. When Tom wasn’t aiming for his next target or casting a line, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and would cook many homemade meals made from his fresh vegetables like soups and salads.  He loved expanding his mind and working with computers.  He loved the classic rock era of music with Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and the Doors being some of his favorite bands that he would hitchhike around the country following. He loved animals, loved to joke and was a loving and caring family man who always put the needs of others first.

Thomas James Davis, age 70 of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Tuesday September 17, 2024, at the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents; Junior Davis and Bertha Crocher. 

To cherish Tom’s memory, he leaves his loving wife of thirteen years; Marlene Musarelli of Monroe, Michigan; his daughter; C’aira Davis of Monroe, Michigan; two sisters; Melody and Roxanne; one brother; Rich Davis and one half-brother; Mike Crocher.

Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Friday September 27, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162. (734)384-5185. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor BJ McDaniel of One-Way Christian Fellowship, officiating. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
