Obituary of Ilene M Kazensky
Ilene M. Iminski was born on January 28, 1944, in Hamtramck, Michigan. She was one of five children born to the union of Peter W. Iminski and Helen (Czarnik) Iminski. Ilene attended the Felician Sisters Academy in Detroit, Michigan graduating with the class of 1962. Shortly after high school, Ilene enlisted in the United States Army where she served in the Woman’s Medical Corp. receiving an Honorable Discharge.
To help provide for her family, Ilene worked as a phlebotomist at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, Michigan for over twenty-two years. Ilene loved her position and missed it very much once she retired.
On June 2, 1972, at the St. Louis the King Parish in Detroit, Michigan, Ilene married the love of her life, Ronald Thomas Kazensky and together the couple were blessed with two sons: Ronald Steven and Alex Peter.
Ilene was as active parishioner of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monroe. A member of the church’s Woman’s Club, she enjoyed volunteering her time. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her favorite television shows like Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and NCIS. Ilene’s most cherished pastime was spending time with her family and grandchildren whom she loved very much.
Ilene M. Kazensky, age 80 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday; September 3, 2024. Her passing was preceded by her parents: Peter and Helen Iminski and her nephew: Paul Dalpe.
To cherish Ilene’s memory she leaves her loving husband of fifty-two years: Ronald T. Kazensky of Monroe; two sons: Ronald S. (Jamie) Kazensky of Temperance, Michigan and Alex P. Kazensky of Toms River, New Jersey; a sister: Nancy Dalpe of Monroe; three brothers: Richard (Gloria) Iminski of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, Donald (Jean) Iminski of Westland, Michigan, and Larry (Helen) Iminski of Algonac, Michigan; three grandchildren: Andrew, Brendan, an Abigail Kazensky.
Friends may gather from 9:00am until 11:00am on Monday; September 9, 2024, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church; 2420 North Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48162. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00am also at St. Anne’s with Father Henry Rebello, as celebrant. Cremation will take place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
