Obituary of Joy Melissa Davis
Joy Melissa Sharp was born on May 19, 1966, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of five children born from the union of Charles Thomas “Tommy” Sharp and Vicella Ann (Goss) Sharp Dozier Pfefferle. After obtaining her GED, Joy furthered her education with course work at Monroe County Community College.
Joy had an infectious enthusiasm for dance. She would often initiate a spontaneous dance party in her living room, first with her children and then later with her grandchildren. These dance sessions were an expression of her vibrant personality.
Frankenmuth was a favorite destination of Joys’, a place where she felt a special connection. These trips were reserved for special occasions, where she indulged her love of shopping. Each visit a two- or three-days excursion was sure to include the purchase of a new Michael Kors purse, adding to her impressive collection. Her love for purses was matched only by her fascination with pens.
Joy also discovered the wonders of the TikTok shop, delighting in finding unique and fun items that brought smiles to her loved ones' faces. Every Christmas, her home transformed into a bustling hub of activity as many family members gathered to bake cookies, especially with Christmas music blaring in the background.
Joy had a collection of Care Bears and Precious Moments figurines, each piece telling a story, each one a reminder of a time, a place, or a person she loved. Her collections were not just about objects, but about the memories attached to them and the sentiments they evoked.
Known for her friendly nature, Joy had an uncanny ability to connect with everyone she met. She possessed a genuine curiosity and warmth that put people at ease, making them feel as if they had known her forever. Her extensive network of friends and family never surprised those who knew her best. However, if she didn’t know you directly, she undoubtedly knew someone who did—a testament to her community spirit and engaging personality.
