Obituary of Carol Ann Bergmooser
Carol Ann Boerboom was born in Monroe, Michigan on December 11, 1944. One of four children, she was the daughter of George Bernard Boerboom and Beatrice Virginia (Kneller) Boerboom. She attended Monroe High School graduating with the Class of 1963.
For more than a decade, Carol worked in the lumber industry employed in sales by the former Morris Lumber in Monroe. She and her son, Brian moved to Stuart, Florida in 1978. She managed a paint and wallpaper store for an additional fifteen years. Carol moved back to Michigan in the early 2000’s. Carol was loving, supportive, and very independent, raising her son to be the same. She had an amazing knowledge base about a plethora of subjects. Due to her background, she specialized in home improvement projects, often reworking window coverings, paint, or furniture. Carol was always on the move. She loved family implicitly and stayed involved in the lives of her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was active in several ministries including serving as a money counter. Carol was also the President of her condo association. She enjoyed the company of others and looked forward to her weekly playing cards sessions with friends. She enjoyed sharing her home with canine companion, a maltese: Molly.
Carol Ann Bergmooser, age 79 of Monroe passed away at 1:16pm on Saturday; August 3, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital after a brief illness. Her passing was preceded by her parents; a sister-in-law: Linda Gail Boerboom, and a brother-in-law: Bill Shields.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a beloved son: Brian Bergmooser and Juan Rodriguez of Redford, Michigan; a sister: Donna Jean Shields of Monroe; two brothers: John Michael (Mary Lou) Boerboom of Hudson, Michigan and George Bernard Boerboom Jr. of Monroe, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; two grandpups: Bernie and Zachary Binx; and two grandcats: Ania and Tashy.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday; August 7, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Funeral Service Celebrating Her Life will follow at 6:00pm with Pastor Mark Duerr of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation will follow through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
