Obituary of Tammy Lynn Drew
Tammy Lynn Church was born on her mother’s birthday, June 21, 1971, in Monroe, Michigan. She was the youngest of four children born to Gary Church and Patsy (Wilson) Church. Tammy attended Airport Community Schools.
On December 23, 1997, she wed the love of her life, Christopher Drew. Tammy had previously been blessed with a son: Ryan and the couple was further blessed with two daughters: Faith and Marissa. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Tammy dedicated her life to caring for her home and family.
Tammy had a great appreciation for the natural world. She enjoyed cruising around in search of wildlife. State Parks were a frequent destination, particularly Pointe Mouillee State Game Area. When her children were young, the family often vacationed at Lake Diane. An animal lover, Tammy cherished her dogs and cats. She had a green thumb often growing beautiful roses. At one time, Tammy also had a “plant room” in her home where she cared for dozens of houseplants. A talented poet, she achieved her goal of having her work published in several poetry compilations. She also enjoyed reading books and tuning in to reality television programs. A loving and kind person, Tammy had a huge heart and never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Tammy Lynn Drew, age 52, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday; May 22, 2024. Her passing was preceded by her father: Gary Church; a brother: Scottie Rice; and her favorite dog: “Freckles”, a Golden Retriever.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved husband of twenty-six years: Christopher Drew; her son: Ryan (Jessica) Bellestri of Monroe; two daughters: Faith Drew and Marissa (Gabe) Cocherell both of Monroe; eight beloved grandchildren with another expected soon; her mother: Pat Church; a sister: Delesia (Randy) Mack; a brother: Frank Rice; several nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law: Bob and Sande LaFaut; father-in-law: Jim Drew; mother-in-law: Cathy Drew; two brothers-in-law: James (Sarah) Drew and Barry (Alicia) Broughton; canine companions: “Jax” and “Moose”; and feline friend: “Comet”.
Friends may gather on Tuesday; May 28, 2024, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will begin at 5:00pm also at Merkle’s. Cremation will follow through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan a division of Merkle Enterprises Inc.
