If you are truly lucky in life you will meet someone like Mary. Mary had a special kindness that was at the core of her being. She was always doing deeds to make someone else's' day a little brighter, be it by offering a listening ear, a plate of food, or lending a helping hand on a task or problem. Her upbeat sense of humor made her a joy to be around and could turn an ordinary undertaking into a fun-filled adventure. Mary possessed a wonderful work ethic. You could always rely on her to do what she said she would do. She always had your back. Mary had a strong faith and followed that faith in her every day living. Her ethics were unwavering. She was not afraid to stand up for what was right, even if it might jeopardize her in some way. Upon learning she had passed, I envisioned her whooshing up to Heaven smiling her wonderful smile. I feel so lucky to have so many memories of Mary, so blessed to have been able to call her my friend.
