Obituary of Douglas Wayne Drewior
Douglas Wayne “Doug” Drewior was born on January 29, 1961, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of eight children born to the union of Gerald James Drewior and Fern Louise (Miller) Drewior. He attended Monroe High School. For more than a decade, Doug was employed as a laborer at the Monroe Power Plant before retiring due to health issues.
Doug loved spending time outdoors whether he was cutting grass or spending weekends with his brothers at the Milan Dragway. In his spare time, he also enjoyed wrenching on cars. Doug enjoyed watching “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and the local news, making sure to keep his brother John up to speed on what was happening around the world. Although he was a simple and quiet man, Doug made an impression on who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
Douglas Wayne “Doug” Drewior, age 63 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday; March 10, 2024. He had been in declining health for many years. His passing was preceded by his parents: Gerald J. and Fern L. Drewior; a sister: Betty Drewior; three brothers: Gerald “Jay” Drewior Jr., William Drewior, and Larry Miller; two nephews: Trent and Bren Drewior.
To cherish Doug’s memory, he leaves his brother: John (Jackie) Drewior of LaSalle, Michigan; two sisters: Darlene (Ken) Smock of Monroe and Judy Stoll of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister-in-law: Elaine Miller of Monroe; two nephews: Brandon (Caitlin) Drewior and Larry Miller Jr; four nieces: Tareasa (Mark) Drewior-Pierce, Sara (Corey) Ferris, Rachael, and Heidi; and one great nephew: Lincoln Drewior.
Friends may gather at 11:00am on Wednesday; March 13, 2024, for a graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery; 909 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162. Doug’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
