My memories of Great Uncle Oscar are scarce as I did not see him often. I believe every memory includes him playing his accordion though! He was an amazing musician who loved sharing his music.
I am thankful that I was able to attend his service today. The readings from his family and the homily given were beautifully spoken. It was a great reminder of how our fathers (parents) should be honored and of the full life that Uncle Oscar lived.
I love the Abraham Lincoln quote at the beginning of this remembrance book, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years."
I hope Uncle Oscar's children and grandchildren are comforted by their wonderful memories of him and "the life in his years".
