Obituary of Vicki LaGail Madison
Vicki Ray was born on July 30, 1955, in Greenwood, Mississippi to Lillian Mae (Hoye) Good and the late Harry L. Ray. Upon graduation from Monroe High School, Vicki began working in the automotive industry. She was most recently employed at Ford Motor Company where she worked on the assembly line. Vicki was blessed with two daughters and a son during her life. A loving mother, she always ensured her children’s needs were met.
Vicki enjoyed trying her luck at bingo. She also loved playing poker with her family. Proud of her home, Vicki was known to be a great interior decorator. Vicki always looked forward to celebrating the holidays and the excitement that comes about during the various holiday seasons. However, her biggest reason for loving the holidays was that she had an opportunity to spend time with her family. A fun spirited person, Vicki loved traveling around to cheer her daughter on in various bowling tournaments.
Vicki LaGail Madison, age 68, passed away at her residence on Wednesday; December 27, 2023. Her passing was preceded by her father; her grandmother: Bertha Mae Howard; her grandson: Darnell Madison; and her sister: Mary Ray.
Left to cherish her memory, she leaves her mother: Lillian Good; two sisters: Peggy Ann Ray and Deborah Turner; two brothers: Noah (Etta) Beverley and Maurice Turner; three children: Heather (Kyle) Smith, Reginald Lee (Jeanette) Ray and Victoria A. Ray; four grandchildren: Jacob Damien, Brianna Tondalea Madison, Reginald Dontae Madison and Alonna Ashleigh (Ben) Ray-Dixon; and two great grandchildren: Dylan Ryan Ray-Davis and Roman Dixon. Vicki also leaves behind a special friend of many years: Lyman Jett Jr.
Friends may gather on Saturday; January 6, 2024, from 10:30am until 11:30am at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Homegoing Celebration of Vicki’s Life will begin at 11:30am also at Merkle’s. Cremation will follow through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation, of Erie, Michigan. Burial of Vicki’s cremated remains will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Monroe, Michigan at a future date.
