Obituary of Lynn Allison Hardaway
Lynn Allison Hardaway was born in Monroe, Michigan on April 12, 1960. The only daughter, she was one of three children born from the union of Katherine (Ray) and Tommie Hardaway. Lynn was very intelligent and an excellent student, graduating from Monroe High School with the Class of 1978. A proud Rocket, she went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Toledo.
Lynn was a hard worker. She took a position with the State of Michigan and was employed as a member of the Liquor Control Commission. Her career spanned twenty-three before retiring as an investigator for the enforcement division.
Lynn loved music and listened to a wide range of genres, enjoying the likes of Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Drake, and even Lil Wayne. Her love of music was displayed through her attendance at numerous concerts with friends, attending whenever she had the chance. Lynn also loved sports, more specifically, she loved Detroit sports, and faithfully cheered on the Tigers, Lions, and Pistons both in the comfort of her own home on the television or in person when she was afforded the opportunity.
Lynn also enjoyed traveling. She was very close to her brother: Tim and would visit him in Chicago as much as possible before he moved to Florida. Although following his move she made the best of the situation since it gave her an excuse to exercise another of her favorite pastimes, shopping for clothes suitable for the Florida climate. When not traveling to visit her brother, she was traversing south to visit Cancun, Mexico or aboard a cruise ship with close friends in search of a tropical paradise. Lynn loved good food wherever she went but was especially fond of Middle Eastern cuisine. However, every year for her own birthday she splurged and celebrated with steak and lobster.
