Obituary of Norma May Beamer

Norma May Miller was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 26, 1957.  She was the daughter of Norman Steve Miller and Eleanor Maude (Drummonds) Miller.  She was educated in the Monroe Public School System attending Waterloo and Custer Elementary Schools, Monroe Junior High School, and was a 1975 graduate of Monroe High School.

She married Norman Gordon Beamer on September 17, 1983, in Monroe.  The couple lovingly raised three children together.  Norma was a homemaker proudly caring for the needs of her husband and children.  She was an excellent cook and a fabulous baker.  She loved preparing meals, knowing that food brought her family together.

Norma was quite intelligent, and it was well-known that she had an awesome recollection for spelling.  She often wooed those around her with mastery of words.  She challenged her mind regularly playing along to Jeopardy.  Her work with arts and crafts was extremely therapeutic as she spent countless hours tediously clearing her mind by creating beautiful and unique pieces.

Norma May Beamer, age 66 of Newport passed away at 7:45pm on Thursday; October 5, 2023, at Monroe Springs Rehab and Nursing Center.  She was under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice.  Her passing was preceded by her father in 2009; a sister: Annette Burt in 2007; her husband: Norman in 2019; a daughter: Anjuril Autumn Miller in 2016, and a daughter: Lyndsei-Nicole Summer Tuttle in 2021.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her mother:  Eleanor Maude Miller of Monroe; a son: Namron (Angela) Beamer of Monroe; two sisters: Julie (Richard) Anson of Monroe and April Kipf of Temperance; and three grandchildren: Nathaniel Beamer, Cameron Beamer, and Jeffy Tuttle III.

Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Monday; October 9, 2023, at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161.  A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 4:00pm also at Merkle’s with Chaplain Dave Edwards officiating.  Cremation will follow through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
