Obituary of Edwin John Pratt
Edwin John Pratt or “Ed” as he was known to many was born on September 16, 1956, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of two sons born to the union of Robert Pratt and Janet (Loughman) Pratt. Growing up the son of a sailor, Edwin spent much time living in different places such as Washington DC, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, New Mexico, and even the Philippines. After graduating high school in 1973, Ed enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably until receiving a medical discharge.
On March 10, 1980, in Albuquerque, New Mexico Edwin married the love of his life; the former Patricia Ellis. The couple was blessed with three children: Bryan, Barbara, and Juanita. He worked several years as the Director of Transportation for Wood County Human Resources before retiring in 1990.
Edwin loved to work with his hands and was very crafty. He built model cars and motorcycles, worked with plants, and often included the plants into the tabletop water fountains he enjoyed building. He liked playing computer games like World of Warcraft or the classics on the Atari Console such as Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Centipede, and Sonic, but his favorite of all was Asteroids. Ed was very fond of board games as well, spending time playing Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly or trying his luck at poker and rummy. Edwin was a huge movie buff with the uncanning ability to tell you anything about any movie. His favorite movies were Twister, World War 2 movies or any of the Lord of the Rings or Star Trek trilogy movies. He had a great sense of humor and could be counted on to scare people during Halloween.
