Rodger I met as the part time new lab guy. He was/is wise he knows much about everything. He was always kind to me. Though I clearly had issues he looked past them. Against rules perhaps on the weekends we worked together I may or may not of spend a few too many hours in the lab . He'd listen to my insanity and still accepted me. Once he retired I'd occasionally get lunch with him and he'd show me his house he was very proud of. He'd show me Pictures of Judy , he was very proud of her, I'd think wow he has himself a beautiful wife. I'll miss our lunches and having a friends house to go and be glad to be seen.

I worked with Rodger for nearly a decade and was fortunate to count him as a good friend as well.
I always enjoyed interacting with Rodger as he was so well versed on a myriad of issues. I still joke that I would tell him to ”dumb it down, for god sake I only have a high school education”. He would just laugh and typically bring you yo a comprehension by complying with the request... but never in a condescending way.
I last saw him this spring when he suspected cancer was now in his brain as he was having difficulty forming thoughts. This was tough to see from a mind I knew to be so vibrant.
I have a deep respect for Rodger and nothing great memories.
My best wishes to Judy and family

I met Rodger when he hired on as my coworker. We became fast friends. His love of life and family was absolutely fantastic. He was the one person who would give you advice, maybe not what you wanted to hear, but what you needed to hear. I remember when I needed an electrical outlet replaced. Rodger offered his help, he didn't just repair it, he had me do it and talked me through the process. He was always there to hear my crazy ideas and laugh, but then quietly as a father would lead me to more realistic ones. He was a big man, with a big heart, big love, big passions and a big zeal for life. He truly treasured the love of his life, Judy...and seeing that taught me what true love really is. I looked to Rodger as a father, and a friend. Not many people can leave as great of an impact as Rodger did....you will be missed my friend!

I haven’t seen Rodger in several years. I moved to California some years ago. But he was my oldest and best friend in the whole world. Despite the time and distance, he was like a brother to me. I knew him since 5th grade. He and I and Wally and Gary grew up together. We were hunting and fishing buddies, and taught each other about life, including sometimes stealing his brother Bill’s rum out of the garage. We went deer hunting together, and froze our asses off. Always wound up shooting ground spiders and chipmunks. He let me drive his four speed, 383 Plymouth Fury. He got me several “good” jobs, like working in the outdoor car wash in January., at about three cents per car washed. He got me a job working at his relatives nursery planting trees off the back of a tractor. Another late winter job. My hands are still cold. He was a good father, a good husband and a good man. Sometimes he could be a little opinionated. He was also a good and loyal friend. God speed brother. My thoughts now are for Judy, their children and for his family. Phil Easter
