Obituary of Joann Marie Hoover
Joann Marie Hoover was born on March 9, 1970, in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of five daughters born to the union of Raymond Donald Hoover and Bernice Stella (Hoover) Baranowski. Joann attended Summerfield Schools and was a lifelong supporter of the district.
On May 24, 2012, in Toledo, Ohio Joann married her soulmate, Robert Begley. They navigated life together, creating a home filled with warmth and love, embracing the joys and challenges that life brought their way.
Throughout life, Joann was known for her unwavering devotion to family. She was an attentive mother to her four sons: Cody (Jessica) Massingill, Cory (Alexandra) Howard, Jack (Alysa) Begley, and Robby Begley and his girlfriend, Mallery. Her heart overflowed with pride and joy as she watched her boys grow, find their own way, and build families of their own. Joann’s role as a grandmother brought immense happiness. She adored her grandchildren: Hunter, Nathan, Riley, and Jack Jr. and was excited about sharing her love with another grandson, Wyatt, who is expected to arrive in November. Joann relished the special moments they shared together, and her love and guidance will forever be a part of their lives.
Joann’s four sisters: Rachele (Eric) Knerr, Stacy (Tony) Colley, Yvette Hoover, and Balbina Crumley were more than siblings they were her closest confidantes and lifelong friends. Their bond was unbreakable and a testament to the strong family ties that Joann held dear. She also had a special relationship with nephews: Kirk and Landon and her favorite niece: Raelyn. Joann cultivated lifelong friendships, a testament to her kind and giving nature, and her companions: Anna Ford, Trina Baker, Kelly Hoover, Jody Brown, and Tammy Poff, stood by her side through thick and thin, remaining until the very end, creating a circle of support that enriched her life.
Joann Marie Hoover, age 53 of Van Buren Township, Michigan passed away at 1:15am on Friday; August 25, 2023, surrounded by her beloved husband of eleven years; Robert and many of her family and friends. Her passing was preceded by her parents: Raymond and Bernice Hoover and her four nephews: Jason, Ryan, Brian, and Brandon. The loss of these loved ones reminds us of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing each moment we have together.
Friends may gather at 12:30pm for graveside services on Saturday; September 9, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery; 16949 Ida West Road, Petersburg, Michigan 49270. Pastor Sarah Quint of Monroe City Church will officiate. Following cemetery services, a luncheon in Joann’s memory will be held at her son Cory’s home, 17291 Ida West Road, Petersburg, Michigan 49270. Food and beverages will be provided and guests will be encouraged to share their fondest memories of Joann. Joann’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
