Obituary of Robert Louis Moomaw, Jr.

Mr. Robert Louis Moomaw, Jr., age 60, known as “Rob” and “Bob”, of North Augusta, South Carolina, the loving husband of Dana Michelle Gepfert Moomaw, entered into rest suddenly and unexpectedly, on Sunday; July 23, 2023.

Rob was born on August 18th, 1962, in Wayne, Michigan and lived in Michigan for most of his life. He was the youngest son/child of the late Robert Louis Moomaw, Sr. and the late Joan (Van Aernum) Moomaw.  He had been a resident of South Carolina since 2010.  Rob was a Senior Controls Engineer with MTU Rolls-Royce Power Systems. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy.

Rob enjoyed music and was an avid Led Zeppelin fan, as well as a Detroit Red Wings fan. He was happiest when spending time with his wife Dana, his three girls, and the rest of the family.  Rob had a passion for getting some “wind therapy” on his Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe. “Live To Ride…. Ride To Live.”

In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his three daughters, Brittany, Natasha, and Kaylie Moomaw; siblings: Ernie Moomaw and his wife, Karen, Patricia Baker, and Janet Link and her husband, Michael; and his “fur children”: Monkey, Georgie, and the late Ruby.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3:00pm until 7:00pm on Saturday; August 19, 2023, at the Detroit Beach Boat Club; 3028 Harborview Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162.  Military honors will be presented at 4:00pm under the auspices of Monroe Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1138, followed by family and friends sharing memories.
