Obituary of Martin Braun

Martin Braun October 13, 1921 ~ June 18, 2009 Martin Braun was born to Anthony and Julia Braun in Yugoslavia. Martin is preceded by two brothers Alex and Chris, two sisters Katie and Julia, his parents and his beloved wife "Rosie". Martin met and married the love of his life Pirusla "Rosie" Facel on July 3, 1947 in Yugoslavia. In 1956 they moved to Monroe, Michigan where Martin was employed by Joe Pope Construction, Bechtel Construction Labors Local 465. Martin and Rosie had 2 children: Karl (Patricia) Patterson Braun of Lambertville, Michigan and Christina (Tom) Beck of Warren, Ohio. Over the years Martin enjoyed playing euchre; fishing, gardening, wood crafting where he built furniture items ie, baskets, and plant stands. Martin was also a great Detroit Tigers baseball fan Martin was a member of Saint Mary's Parish in Monroe where he worked for the Sisters when he first came to Monroe. Martin has 3 grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Services have been already been conducted at Merkle Funeral Service Inc. with Father Marc Gawronski of Saint Mary's Parish officiating with interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Monroe, Michigan.
