Margaret Huffman was born on January 10, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Stanley and the late Pearl (McKenney) Stanley. She married the love of her life, Charles Cole on December 7, 1963 at Faith Lutheran Church in Detroit. From this union would come the birth of five children: Charles, Richard, Kelly, Natalie, and Rebecca. Margaret, as she was affectionately known, to say the least was an exceptional woman. She proudly looked after her home and family as a homemaker. She willingly gave of her time to volunteer work whenever and wherever she was needed. She had a heart of gold, and always put the needs of everyone else ahead of her own. Margaret was a determined person, and she knew how to get the job done. She was an active participant in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walks. As a young woman, she taught Sunday School and catechism. She cherished her family and loved getting together with them. Margaret was known by many as "Aunt Margi". She loved playing Bunko, Bingo, and bowling. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and doing any type of arts and crafts. Margaret was also a crossword puzzle fan. M. Margaret Cole, age 68 of Newport, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her home. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a brother: John Huffman. To cherish her memory Margaret leaves her beloved husband of more than fifty years: Charles; two sons: Charles (Cheryl) Cole of Newport, and Richard Cole of Arizona; three daughters: Kelly Cole of Lincoln Park, Natalie Cole of Warren, and Rebecca Cole of Newport; a brother: Raymond (Barb) Huffman of Florida; seven grandchildren: Sarah, Zachary, Cody, Alexandria, Dominic, Evan, and Ethan; and four great-grandchildren: AuDreya, Brennan, Connor, and Lucas. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, also at Merkle's with Pastor Karl Fuhlbrigge, Visitation Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
