Obituary of Rosemary Hernandez

Rosemary Carder was born in Monroe, Michigan on December 5, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Oval Carder and the late Bernice (Kim) Carder. She was a 1971 graduate of Monroe High School. Rosemary married the love of her life, Tony Hernandez on September 30, 1972 in Monroe. From this union would come the birth of one daughter, Cristina. Rosemary was a wonderful, supportive wife and mother. She cherished the time that she spent with her family more than anything. Rosemary enjoyed going to family events and having cook-outs at home. Each year, Rosemary could be counted on to supply an overabundance of delicious Christmas cookies. Later in life, Rosemary, was gifted with three grandchildren. They meant the world to her and nothing pleased her more than spending time with them. For fifteen years, Rosemary helped to support her family with employment as a housekeeper at Beech Nursing Home. Rosemary was gifted with a green thumb. She loved to care for her flowers and painstakingly looked after her rose beds, climbing rose bushes, and lilies. In her free time, she enjoyed playing games on her Kindle and was often in the company of her best friend Joann. Rosemary Hernandez, age 62 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in her home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by one brother: Jim Carder; and a sister: Mildred Nutt. To cherish her memory Rosemary leaves her beloved husband of more than forty-two years: Tony; one daughter: Cristina Hernandez of Monroe; two brothers: Robert "Bob" (Hilda) Carder of Monroe and George Carder of Dundee; two sisters: Kathleen (Harley) Aichler of LaSalle and Martha Knoll of California; three grandchildren: Nicolette Hill, Cody Hill, and Zachary Hill; two miniature Dobermans: Chiquita and Tiny; and one six toed cat: Six. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)348-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's with Reverend Gary Pickrell , Associate Pastor of Monroe Full Gospel Church officiating. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan.
