Velma was our next door neighbor on Vivian Road for years and years.. Scarlet was our babysitter also..
No matter after Velma moved, where she lived she always kept in touch with the family... When our mom died, she was there.. always friendly and happy.. and always a joy to see her...
I have to work late today so cannot visit her one last time, but her memory with live with me forever..
Prayers and comfort to the family !!

I first met Velma and Scarlett 52 years ago. My sister lived across the street from Velma and her daughter Scarlett. I babysat for Scarlett's son Frankie and our families became friends.
Velma made a salad one day and it was very interesting. It was a dandelion salad and at the time I thought to myself, "A what kind of salad?" I had never heard of making a salad before with these wild flowers that grew in the yard, but I tried it because she made it. Much to my surprise it was pretty good. Velma is the only one who ever made that for me. That was my first and my last time to ever eat dandelion salad. That was 52 years ago and seems only like yesterday.
Velma and Scarlett were so easy to get to know and such a joy to be around. Of course little Frankie is now big Frank with a little Frankie all his own. Our daughter is a friend of little Frankie so the freindship just continues on from one generation to the next. Some people touch your life and you are never the same. That is this family of who I was privileged to have met many years ago and the honor of still being able to call them my friends now, 52 years later. I love you all dear friends. Linda McKinney

Dear Scarlett and family. We are so sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother and our friend. We go back many years. Your mom and I had many interesting talks over the years especially when we had a chance to talk while at church. She was a beautiful lady and will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time of sorrow. Your mom is now in her Heavenly home with "No Tears Past the Gate." We love you. Linda & Terry McKinney
