MR.Moore was my 5th grade teacher in 1985 at Fordline elementary School in SouthGate. He was also my younger brothers 5th grade teacher as well. I knew him before that as he was the gym teacher at the school. I remember giving him a Christmas gift and it was the 45 of the song by Bachman Turner overdrive 'BTO' taking care of business. He used to sing the line in the song takin care of business And then tell us that was what we should be doing. he also told us a story about when he was a young man may be 18 or 19 years old he was working with a salvage company with his brother off of Belle Isle and he would go underwater and hook up chains to rocks and one time when they pulled up a rock some giant fish came out and it was very big and scared him and he surfaced as fast as he could and he was tethered to his brother and pulled him up as well he said after that he never went in water past his chin. I'll never forget that story as I grew up on Lake Erie I wish I would have been able to tell him as an adult that he helped me and that I respected him greatly for being the kind of teacher he was. I am now married to a teacher and she tells me all the time how different things are now. THANK YOU MR.MOORE.

It was a a great show of courage during his battle with the disease. I've always admired Jim's honesty but his blunt approach to his journey was remarkable. I'll think of him often and summon his help when I need direction fishing. XO L
