Timothy Paul Lewis was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 25, 1956. He was the son of the late Patrick Lewis and June (Farner) Lewis. Timothy attended Monroe High School where he received his diploma. In the late 1980's, Timothy moved to Kentucky where he would make his home for more than twenty-four years. He met the love of his life, the former Carol Carrier. They were joined in marriage on September 25, 1990 in Annville, Kentucky where they made their home 23 years. Timothy was a hard-worker and working for nearly forty years as a Union Electrician. He was employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 8. In 2012 the family moved back to make to Michigan to make their home in Erie. Timothy always seemed to be happy and outgoing with a warm smile. He was well known wherever he went for his pleasant demeanor. Timothy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed shooting guns and spent many hours target shooting. He had a passion for music and his interests were extremely varied. Timothy cherished the time he spent with his loved ones and one of his favorite pastimes was strumming on the guitar for his family and friends. Timothy Paul Lewis, age 57, of Erie passed away at 12:20am on Monday, December 2, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a three year battle with cancer. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by an aunt: Gwen Wertenberger; and an uncle: Joe Lewis. To cherish his memory, Timothy leaves his loving wife of twenty-three years: Carol Lewis of Erie; his son: Zappa Lewis; mother: June Lewis, two sisters: Cathy Bynum of Monroe and Diane Lewis of Erie; two aunts: Connie Hall of Lincoln Park, and Betty Smith of Erie, an uncle: William "Billy" Lewis of Kentucky; a nephew: Tyler Arnwine of Monroe; and two nieces: Mellissa Arnwine and Cali Bynum of Monroe. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services. Friends may gather from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street in Erie (734) 848-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 7:00pm.
