Judith Yvonne Dion was born in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada on July 4, 1923. She was the daughter of the late J. Frank Dion and Cedia (Lacomb) Dion.
Judith married the love of her life, Joseph Bonneau, on December 26, 1945 in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. They soon would move to the United States making their home in Erie, Michigan. From their union would come the birth of three children. Judith cherished her role as a mother and homemaker.
One of her favorite pastimes was camping, especially with her grandchildren, although she never strayed far from home. Judith always looked forward to being surrounded by her family and hosting get-togethers at her home.
She received her spiritual nourishment as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. Judith was familiar face in the Erie community as well being in the Ladies Auxillary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3925, and the Luna Pier Senior Citizens at Water Tower Park. She was a resident of Windhaven Elder Care for the past nine years.
Judith Yvonne Bonneau, age 90 of Erie, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Sylvania Healthcare and Rehab. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her loving husband of sixty-two years: Joseph Bonneau; a daughter: Pamela Bunge; two sisters: Delores (Fred) White and Emerance Dion; and two brothers: Rosair Dion and Raymond Dion.
To cherish her memory, Judith leaves two daughters: Sharon (Terence) Nester of Erie and Dolores (Kenneth) Nixon of Toledo; a son -in-law: Rick (Kathy) Bunge of Temperance; a sister: Therese Kimbrough of Alabama; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street in Erie (734) 848-5185. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00pm. She will Lie in State from 10:00am until a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan Street in Erie with Father Dave Cybulski officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
