Obituary of Billy Stephens

Billy Ray Stephens Jr. was born in California on December 22, 1962. He was the only son of four children born to the union of the late Billy Ray Stephens Sr. and the late Anna Mae (Hurst) Stephens. Billy attended Romulus High School. Billy had worked as a laborer for many years. He lived in the Downriver area for several years before moving from Westland to Monroe one year ago. Billy had a strong love for his two daughters and cared for them deeply. He married the former April Williams on December 18, 2010 in Alabama. Billy Ray Stephens Jr., age 50 of Monroe, passed away at 7:45pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Magnum Care of Monroe. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a sister: Anna Stephens in 2010. To cherish his memory, Billy leaves his wife of three years: April Williams-Stephens; two beloved daughters: Tiffany Stephens of Newport and Shelby Stephens of Owosso; two sisters: Koren (Tom) Ward of Flat Rock and Debbie Stephens of Alabama; and two grandchildren: Alexandria and Coleton. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. Friends may gather from 10:00am until 11:00am on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 11:00am with Reverend Kenneth Spain, Associate Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
