Obituary of Pearl Meadors
Please share a memory of Pearl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pearl Genavieve Broyles was born in Harlan, Kentucky on September 14, 1935. She was one of seventeen children born from the union of the late John and Rose (-----) Broyles.
Pearl married the love of her life, Joe Harold Meadors on March 12, 1951 in Harlan. From this union would come the birth of six children. Pearl became a homemaker and took on the responsibility of raising the children. She was extremely protective of her children, always defending them from others, even though her own kids were usually the ones out fighting. As a young woman, Pearl enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, and dancing.
Pearl was a spitfire and a tough woman, but she cherished the time that she spent with her family. She looked forward to attending the yearly family reunions in Ohio and being around her grandchildren as much as possible.
Pearl enjoyed crocheting and knitting and watching Wheel of Fortune in her downtime. She also liked to play the lottery. Pearl also loved technology and had to have the first of everything when it was released.
Pearl, age 78 of Carleton, passed away November 17, 2013 at Oakwood Heritage Hospital. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her loving husband: Joe Meadors; two sets of twin brothers and sisters at birth; a grandson: Ernest Maclellan; and a sister: Bonnie (-----).
