Obituary of Timothy Massey

Please share a memory of Timothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Timothy "Tim" Scott Massey was born on April 12, 1976 in Ann Arbor. He was one of three children born to the union of the late Billy Ray Massey and Bernadine "Dee" (Pierce) Gallotia Nitchie. Tim attended Monroe High School and later earned his GED. For more than fifteen years, Tim worked in construction. The past four years he was employed by Kuehlein Concrete as a laborer. Tim was a man's man. He was the defender of the weak, and generous to a fault, giving others the shirt off his back or the bandana from his head. He could be a little crazy at times, to say the least, but was willing to share whatever he owned. Tim was a loving and loyal friend, the kind who didn't ask questions. He had a great sense of humor always smiling, laughing, and joking. Tim was a phenomenal cook. He had the ability to cook from scratch, and being a meat and potato guy he loved a great steak. Tim more than anything cherished his relationships, loving family and friends and his children were top priority. He was an avid Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He had attended Monroe Full Gospel. Tim age 37 a lifelong Monroe resident passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Tim's generosity continued as he became a Gift of Life organ donor. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by his grandparents. To cherish his memory he leaves his mother and stepfather: Dee Nitchie and Vern of Brooklyn; children: Nicholas Ellison Massey, Colin Kelley Massey, Jordan Massey, and Michael Meyers Massey; sister: Donna (Richard) Starkey; brother: Jim Ray Massey; maternal aunts: Ruby Pierce and Wanda (Earl) Sikorski; and maternal uncle: Tom Pierce; and his precious dog: Whitey. Friends may gather from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. Gary Pickrell, Associate Pastor of Monroe Full Gospel officiating. Procession will follow to Woodland for burial. A memorial dinner and fundraiser will take place at 4:00pm at the Iron Coffin Motorcycle Clubhouse, 10923 South Telegraph Road in Erie. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
