Obituary of Kenneth Kolver
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Edward Kolver was born in Romulus, Michigan on October 18, 1937. He was the son of the late Otto and Lydia (Frommert) Kolver. Kenneth attended Romulus schools.
He married Judith Ann Remick in 1958 and from this union came the birth of two children. Kenneth would marry the love of his life, Beverly Ruth Burkey on March 13, 1971.
He was an extremely hard worker and supported his family as a Crane Operator for Walbridge Aldinger. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers for forty-five years. For more than fifteen years, Ken had been sand blasting for Guardian Industries.
Ken was a heck of a man and a great person. He was kind and generous with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed "pulling others chains". Kenneth never seemed to sit still and loved the outdoors. In his down time, Ken could be found tending to his vegetable garden or chopping wood, which he never seemed to have enough of, obsessively. In the past Kenneth had enjoyed farming as well. Kenneth had a passion for his Up North home often traveling for four wheeling and tractor riding.
Also, if there was a rainy day, you can bet he would be at a casino.
Kenneth and his sidekick, "Peanut" were constant companions. Kenneth was a lifetime member of the Brest Bay Gun Club in Newport and the Lewiston Moose Lodge.
Kenneth Edward Kolver Sr., age 75 of Newport, passed away at his Lewiston home on Thursday, October 3, 2013. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a brother: Wesley Kolver.
To cherish his memory, Kenneth leaves his loving wife of forty-two years: Beverly Kolver; two children: Cheryl Lynn (Kolver) Beilman and Kenneth E. Kolver Jr. all of Newport; a sister: Carrol Nerswick of Belleville; two brothers: Larry (Madeline) Kolver of Lewiston and Roger (Linda Amos) Kolver of Romulus; and three grandchildren: Kevin Beilman of Lewiston, Kenneth Kolver III of Newport, and Jordan Kolver of Brownstown.
Ken will be missed very dearly by his family and friends.
