Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donna Kay Edmondson was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 12, 1946. She was the only child born from the union of the late William Otis Edmondson and the late Edith (Webb) Edmondson. She attended Monroe Schools graduating in 1964. Donna married the love of her life Thomas England on December 27, 1982 in Toledo. She was a homemaker and loved the challenges of taking care of her family. For many years, Donna, Thomas, and the children enjoyed hunting together. For several years, Donna worked as a lunch lady for Hollywood and Manor Schools to be close to her children and granddaughter. She was a member of Union Street Missionary Baptist Church. Donna enjoyed crocheting and she was always generous with her creations. She liked to give her pot holders, baby blankets, Christmas stockings, slippers, and just about anything else as gifts to those around her. Donna was the consummate host. She loved to entertain and cook for family and friends at large get-togethers, the more the merrier. Her fruit pizza and chicken dumplings were long time guest favorites. Donna was an avid major league baseball fan and a die-hard Detroit Tiger. She and her daughter-in-law Kellie were the dynamic duo when it came to visiting casinos. Donna age 67 of Monroe passed away at 2:17am, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her parents. To cherish her memory, Donna leaves a husband: Thomas of Monroe; two daughters: Brittany (Christopher) Rains of Monroe and Brooke Lawson of Bowling Green, Ohio; a son: Michael (Kellie) England of Erie; six grandchildren: Keegan, Thomas, and Jericho England, Jordan Lawson, Casey (William) Hawkins III, and Kenneth Bores; two great grandchildren: Jackson Hawkins and William IV; her lifelong best friend: Linda Bakara of Arizona; and her four legged friends: Pudge, Bella, and Lizzie.
