After retiring, Ken and Mary spent two years traveling the country living in a motor home. They then spent two years in California before returning to Michigan. Ken returned to work for three years as kitchen help at the IHM, a position he truly cherished. Ken had many varied interests and hobbies. Throughout life he had a fascination with model trains. He was a skilled woodworker performing home improvements and remodeling often and building doll houses. Ken also enjoyed flying model airplanes. Ken was kind and friendly, generously sharing his time, and enjoyed making others laugh. He was supportive and encouraging to those around him. Ken was in constant motion, never letting the grass grow beneath his feet. He was a born again Christian receiving his spiritual nourishment through Stewart Road Christian Ministries and singing in the choir. Ken, age 73 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at home. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by son: Matthew and sister: Oleda.
