Obituary of Janet Mayhugh
Janet Mayhugh, age 79 of Monroe, Michigan formerly of Dundee passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at her home. She was born in Ida, Michigan on February 28, 1939 the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Orns) Weilnau. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1956. Janet married Louis (Mickey) Mayhugh on August 28, 1975 in Monroe. Sadly he passed away on February 4, 2014. She had worked as a bus driver for Dundee Community Schools for 12 years and was a property manager for Haight Properties. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and was a member of the Monroe Fraternal Order of Eagles. After retiring they moved to Florida for ten years but came back to Monroe. Survivors include her daughters Pamela Higgins of Monroe, Paula Short of Monroe and Polly (Martin) Gunjak of Dundee; grandchildren Jessica Goins, Martin Gunjak, Jeremy Short and Dustin Gunjak; great-grandchildren Kaira (Madison), Mackenzie and Jayda; sister in law Fran Weilnau of Sharonville, Ohio. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Thurman Weilnau. Friends may call on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 1 to 5 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156 A closing farewell will be held at 5 PM. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
