Obituary of Anthony Goins

Anthony Eugene Goins was born at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, Michigan on October 20, 2011. He was the son of Nick Simmons and Aja Goins and currently resided in Detroit, Michigan. Anthony loved Sponge Bob Square Pants. He was a very active and lovable little boy. Anthony loved playing outside, especially with his brother and sister. He also enjoyed music and dancing along with it. Anthony had his best bud, a puppy, Angel that he spent a lot of time with, mostly beat up on. Anthony, age 1 of Detroit passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. To cherish his memory he leaves parents: Nick Simmons and Aja Goins; his paternal grandmother: Lafaye Simmons; his maternal grandparents: Tina (Carlton) Smith and Mark Goins, three siblings: Michael Grimes Jr., Mickeya Goins of Monroe and Nicholas Johnathon Owens of Saginaw; great-aunt: Angela Ferguson; cousin: Tearra Threatt; and many other members of the family. Anthony is preceded by an uncle: Khary Phoenix; and great-grandmothers; Evelyn Goins and Odelia Davis. Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 2:30pm, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:30pm also at Merkle's with the Reverend Alfred Overstreet pastor of Al Overstreet Evangelistic Ministries officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
