Gordon E. Hoover, age 86, of Dundee, Michigan passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Vista Grande Villa in Jackson. He was born in Dundee July 22, 1928 the son of Howard and Edith (Good) Hoover. He married Joanne E. Korpinen August 12, 1950 at the Milan Baptist church. Sadly she passed away December 4, 1998. He attended Dundee schools and was a lifetime farmer. He had also worked at Tecumseh Products Company in Tecumseh and was a bus driver for Dundee community Schools. He enjoyed working on tractors and had even painted them for Salenbien Implement in Dundee. He was a member of the Southeast Michigan Antique Tractor and Engine Association (SMATEA). He was a longtime member of the Milan Baptist Church. He also had a fondness for CB radio. His handle was “Blue Streak”. Gordon is survived by his daughters: Susan (James) Barb of Chelsea and Anne Hoover of Durham, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren: Jeff Barb, Chris Brueckert, Sarah Brueckert and Megan Barb; 8 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild: a brother Calvin (Julie) Hoover of Jackson, Michigan and brother in law Jerry (Jean) Wessel of Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, stepmother Electa Hoover, and sisters Joyce Bird and Elaine Wessel. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). He will lie in state from 10 AM until service at 11 AM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Milan Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Doug Strader. Cremation will follow the services with interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee.
