Judith Ann Bishop, age 76 of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born February 13, 1938 in Dundee the daughter of Lyle Harry Goodridge and Arlene Margaret Fluher. Her mother died when she was a very young girl. She married Eugene L. Bishop June 16, 1956 in Petersburg. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2006. Judy retired from the sewing department at the G.M. Fisher Body Plant. She was a telephone operator in the days when the calls were still switched manually by hand. She was a graduate of Summerfield High School in 1956 .She loved people and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed animals and could actually feed squirrels directly from her hand. She enjoyed crocheting and could make a variety of different things. Her survivors include her husband Eugene; daughters Gina (David) Cress of Petersburg and Christen Bishop (Matt Ruehs) of Dundee; 5 grandchildren, Jordan, Austin, Ayden, Noah and Sydney; brothers Frank (Barb) Goodridge and Jack (Suzanne) Goodridge both of Dundee. She was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Possley and brothers Lyle and Donald. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh St. in Dundee (734-529-3156). Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be the Rev. David DesAutels, pastor of the Abundant Life Ministries of Temperance.
