Obituary of Ronald E. Clawson

Ronald E. Clawson, Sr. , age 67, of Luna Pier formerly of Dundee, passed away Thursday morning, April 5, 2012 at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.. He was born In Speedwell, Tennessee August 5, 1944 the son of Hyllard and Dona (Owens) Clawson. He was raised in Bedford Township and had attended Bedford Public Schools. He had worked for a large bean plant in Monroe County. He also worked as a horologist doing watch repairs and repaired guns and guitars. He loved to play music and sang in many bars and nightclubs in Toledo and Erie. He also loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his family. In 1969 he married the former Sherry Sorter in Indiana. His survivors include two sons Ronald E. (Jami) Clawson Jr, of Ida, Michigan and Mack E. (Shari) Clawson of Maybee; three grandchildren Jacob Swanson, Ronnie Clawson III and Lyric Clawson; two brothers James Donald (JD) Clawson of Monroe and Darrell (Duck)(Linnie) Clawson of Erie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Scott M. Clawson on July 5, 1994, and sister Lola Clawson and brother Dennis Clawson. Friends may call on Friday from 1 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg.
