Obituary of Edward Kotus
Edward Kotus, 82, of Milan Township, Michigan, passed away on January 3, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor , surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born November 23, 1929 in Milan, Michigan, the youngest son of Stanley and Agnes (Rog) Kotus. On October 26, 1957 he married Mary Ann Bereczky in Wyandotte, Michigan and she survives.
Edward lived all his life in Milan and was a long-time farmer. He retired from the Monroe County Drain Commission after 25 years of service. He was also a 55 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324 in Troy, MI. Edward’s hope was for the earthly resurrection (John 5:28, 29) and living forever in Paradise on earth. (Luke 23:43).
In addition to his devoted wife of 54 years, he was a loving father to six children: Janice (Thomas) Pack, Deborah (Gerald) Block, Sharon Kotus, David (Christi) Kotus, Connie Kotus and Elizabeth Kotus all of Milan: four grandchildren Barek Block, Joshua, Lauren and Matthew Kotus all of Milan; a sister in law Louise Kotus of Grand Rapids, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Stella (Joseph) Vince; and three brothers John (Hulda), Frank (Lydia) and Walter Kotus.
In accord with his wishes Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are being handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 11865 Carpenter Road in Milan, Michigan on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. Following the service, family and friends are invited to attend a meal at the Milan Community Senior Center, 45 Neckel Court (behind the Milan Police Station).
